The assignment was a shared essay? Written together? And then the prof was, oh no a free loader?

There is already 5d chess, it's been out for years on steam. It's very polished, has tutorials and puzzles. Time travel and parallel universes.

I'm going back. Storage on phones is so big now. You can have all your music local.

Good point. Regrettably, newer phones have eliminated external SD cards. I preferred upgrading my phone storage on demand and having external card for stuff like MP3s and videos and manually doing large data transfers directly on my computer.

I carry my entire music library on my phone in Opus format. Smaller than a similar quality MP3 and good enough for the times I’m likely listening offline (working out, riding transit, on a plane).

Ikea is great. They solved 90% of furniture. They never rip you off. If only more industries were solved like Ikea solved furniture.

Imagine cars or clothes or food or housing the Ikea way. Meticulously improved decade over decade. Always respecting the customer, the customer never the product. No change because of change.

Very few tables wouldn't be ruined by punching it with a screw driver.

There's always the zero button and I always mash it happily.

Also chat is private. We went from public but anonymous to private and unanimous.

Well on facebook you could originally choose who you wanted to share things with. Not sure if that's still there because I haven't used it in years.

In theory you could do this with facebook but the defaults matter and they defaulted to sharing very widely. With chat it's obviously and understandably bounded (at least unless a member of the group takes a positive action to forward/copy messages elsewhere, which is not generally very socially accepted to do without some level of permission or least a good reason).

It's like saying "my server is now white", a common thing people would say roughly a hundred years ago.

And it's called "dutch disease".

We did it with gas. Now look at Norway. We could've been like Norway.

We couldn't have been like Norway. Norway is super duper rich due to.... Oil rights elsewhere in the world.

They play the best kid in class with electrification but their funding comes directly from contributing to the problem.

And when Holland found the gas reserves in Groningen, global warming was really not known about yet.

Norway invested their oil winnings in a nation wide fund. The Netherlands spent their gas money on hookers and booze.

One time someone asked me to paint their house, so I made a 5 square inch watercolour of it. Unfortunately this didn't protect the walls from moisture and they ended up with mold in their house.
