Maybe this is a signal the author themselves needs to get better at adopting AI...

Do you have an opinion on OpenCode vs Aider?

I haven't tried Aider yet but perhaps I will. Another one that seems to be getting traction is Pi Coding Agent.

Aider is still around? That is pre-tool-calling era stuff. Better compare against Pi.

I just started running coding agents locally. So you recommend Pi over opencode? (And obviously aider is out?)

Haven't tried OpenCode too much but I found it great. It's more batteries included so I would recommend it over Pi if you don't want to write extensions yourself or use community-provided ones (like webfetch and websearch).

I personally found better results with Opencode. But Pi is really nice too.

> No, the code is actually almost always correct.

I wouldn't go that far. It is actually almost always incorrect in that its incomplete. It also needs more iterating and bug fixing.

While this is all true and we keep beating this dead horse, the other reality is that while it may not take less time, it certainly takes less people now. And that can't be ignored.

I’m ready to make a game with this, or something similar. Open to suggestions on tooling and asset pipelines that utilize AI, if anyone has any suggestions or guides.

Claude code has gone down hill in a really bad way. It is often far too quick to make significant changes, and requires much higher level of hand-holding and explanation than I am used to. r/claudecode on reddit shows a litany of complaints!

I assumed most software eng from the early aughts can all juggle.

I've been a loyal digital ocean customer for years, I switched away from Linode way back when (for reasons I don't even remember.) I'm extremely happy with the DO service, so here's to hoping they don't screw it all up!!

yeah it's because Linode was more expensive and it had some security incidents

That's right. Wow seems like a lifetime ago. Remember Media Temple?? haha.

Back when DO came in and cut all Linode VM prices in half.
