For new accounts yes, for older accounts it's much faster in my experience.

Apple has it's own issues, they often just answer with a random question so they can kick the review down the line. "Are you sure this is your pricing?" "Can you confifrm you have not selected that country" and then you have to wait another 2 days.

I thought the same, but then I build a few complicated apps and thought I could keep the different codebases stable but still was a headache, so switched web, ios, android all back to expo/rn. I love that testing is only (almost) only thing now, instead of 3 platforms.

The main issue I have, which is partly connected to writing style, mainly with it dealing with our stupidity. Is that is actually thinks it knows better, and sometimes it does, but often it doesn't and then it keeps telling me I'm wrong and I have to argue with it. Opus 5 is more condescending then Fable, but it still is very tiring. Does fable 5.1 handle this better?


Its about creating a programmatic tool or game that solves something or creates joy to someone or a group. Thats it. The rest is just a way to make to above goal cheaper or easier to accomplish

The single biggest annoyance, same as with fable, is that it overrules your prompt and does what it thinks is better. Even small things, sometimes it goes of a rant of 20 min doing random shit.

And they are so condescending while doing it, it's unbearable. I'm honestly starting the believe the scifi fantasy of AI locking us up, or killing us, for our own good.

I've had Fable & Opus 5, they are the same class of annoyance, write entire test suites when I just asked a simple verifications question, write to production database, deploy without permission, even after deploying and breaking my production API claiming it was not down. Then having to argue & plead with it to listen that they were wrong.

They are without a doubt the most powerful models, but also the most smug ones.


I don’t know, I wouldnt be suprised if he finds a way. All the tools around, he just have to make a jump in the quality. With GLM as example they should be able to het to opus level and cut the costs

Thanks; I read the story you linked. It mostly reads as a hit piece centered around various legal allegations tied to stringent confidentiality agreements. There isn't much substance beyond that. The article briefly discusses some vague customer complaints about allulose-directed side-effects from his 'longevity mix', but the actual complaints are incredibly vague and you could attribute side-effects to or from basically any supplement. The article is basically a long-form screed saying over and over "he makes you sign confidentiality agreements".

I don't like Bryan Johnson per se, I just don't think that mal-intent has been substantiated.

For your second claim, I had to use ChatGPT to source it. It turns out that there was a problem with an earlier batch of one of his many supplements being out of spec per the COA. This is common and not unusual. He provides lab testing and COA for his current supplements. The unusual part is that anybody even ever knew his supplements were out of spec because companies don't really publish COA - and people knew because he did publish COA.


I think modern domestic houses its the opposite. At least in Netherlands insulation is such a strong focus, due to climate change I think, that modern appartments have terrible ventilation


Stayed at a beautiful new house in Finland, with five people instead of the usual two, the CO2 detector intermittently went off while we were sleeping. Which the hosts assured us was a faulty detector. They also spoke to how extremely energy efficient the house was, to us it seemed like there wasn't enough ventilation, to improve the insulation. Against their wishes, I slept with all windows fully cracked, which was only ~2 inches due to the "efficient" design.


This was probably CO not CO2? A CO2 monitor doesn't "go off", it just silently reports. CO would go off because it's deadly to have a CO leak.


My portable CO2 monitor goes off. You can set a levels of warning on the aranet. It is a very quiet, non-disruptive alarm, but an alarm nonetheless.

Poor ventilation is mostly an issue in homes built or renovated in the 1970s, when the oil crisis led to ill-considered efforts to save energy. New homes typically achieve energy efficiency by using heat pumps in the ventilation system.


How modern? We built or house in Belgium in 2016, and it was completely sealed, very well insulated, but the air quality was good because we had mechanical ventilation. Clean air blown in, stale air extracted which then went through a heat exchanger.

The only issue this house had was it overheated. We had glass facing south. Even in winter it instantly became too hot.

The link I pointed to is all about ventilation, so just because people ignored an important component of building science, and focused on one aspect, does not invalidate it.

And while climate change is important and using efficiency to deal with it is useful, the thermal control layer is actually the least important of the four:

'Bulk' water (precipitation) and moisture can cause deterioration of the building materials (rot, crumbling), and also mold, which has its own health effects. Leaky houses can often blow conditioned air at much faster rates than thermal leakage.


A friend of mine recently moved to a modern apartment, built only a few years ago to a very high isolation standard (Germany). I stayed over night and slept on his couch, the air got really really dry and stuffy. It was really uncomfortable.


Heat recovery ventilation is the answer to this. You also get the benefit of being able to filter it.


Energy recovery ventilation is the answer to this.

HRVs only deal with temperature, but then you have humidity that is non-controlled: moisture coming in during the summer, and getting vented out in the winter (too-dry air coming in).

ERVs handle both.
